WHAT’S A “FACTORY SPOTLIGHT”?
This week we’ve put together a special series for you called “Factory Spotlight”.
Factory Spotlights go in-depth to explore a particular project or topic that we are passionate about; we look at topics that are transforming the industry or game-changing projects. This week we’ll be sharing a story a day about a once in a lifetime experience, the Sagrada Familia projection mapping show called Ode À La Vie.
Here’s chapter 1 of our 5 part story.
A SPECIAL MANDATE
Invited by the Cities of Montreal and Barcelona to create a sound and light mapping show on the Sagrada façade, Moment Factory planned to do something special for Barcelona and Gaudi’s legacy at the annual festival La Mercè which celebrates culture and creativity.
Conceived by the late architect Antoni Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia is a church like no other. Its intricate façade and complex architecture make it a global landmark and Unesco World Heritage site. But the site is not without mystery. The church was never competed in the lifetime of the architect, leaving everyone with an unspoken mission; to help realize Gaudi’s dream.
Sometimes, dreams really do come true. To us, the story of the Sagrada Familia Ode À La Vie project is an example of one of those times, where we got to create a special multimedia experience. But first, we we needed to dig deep and find out everything there was to know about the Sagrada Familia to get inspired!
