Shout out to all our techy VJ’s – How do we make those visuals ‘pop’ to the music? Syncing visuals to one envelope – or data source, like the amplitude of the track, gives a simple obvious interaction.
But Spectrum Analysis goes deeper. It uses multiple envelopes divided into as many different frequencies as you like, and turns them into data points!
The result? It can be messy… The usual way to do this is to split the music into three bands: low, mids and highs so the audio-visual analysis goes deeper, but the increased complexity sometimes creates murky visuals.
Is less more? What do you guys think, one data envelope vs spectrum analysis?
