What’s organic and shines neon colors? That’s right, beautiful bioluminescence.
We were so curious about bioluminescence that we set up a research lab to explore how these most basic light emitting organisms work and their potential application in multimedia installations.
The organic substance is tricky to work with, but we can’t deny that there’s something incredibly special about seeing our living world glow.
Thanks to our bioluminescence lab, we learned a ton about using synthetic fluorescents.
Over the summer, you can see the blend of nature-science-magic in our Foresta Lumina installation at the Coaticook Gorge.
